We Have Pee-Pee in our Potty!

After many hours of sitting on the potty this summer, Mason finally let it go! He was so excited. I think he said pee-pee about hundred times and then got to call Daddy. He is still no where near being potty trained, but it's a start!

The Camera is on Vacation

My camera is currently on vacation in Turks and Caicos. Yep, Rene and Lindsay are taking their 'babymoon' this week and invited the camera (and not me) to go. So there will be no current pics of Mason until next weekend. So in order to pacify the family here are some pics of Mason from his first month of life. Steven and I were reminiscing the other night and couldn't believe how much he has changed. There is nothing about him that is a baby anymore. He's growing up way too fast for me. I'm just glad I've got a huge library of photos!

Back Pain=Not a Happy Mommy

All through my pregnancy with Mason I had some lower back pain now and again. It wasn't an ache, just a stabbing pain if I sat down too long or laid flat. However, I just dealt with it. Now that baby #2 is getting LARGER, the stabbing pain is getting much worse. This morning when I got out of bed I could barely put any weight on my right foot. I thought if I just moved around I could work it out, but two hours later and I was dying. SO...off to the chiropractor for the first time. He did all kinds of maneuvering and cracking and popping and WHAM...much better. Apparently I was all jacked up. I have never heard so much noise come from my back in my entire life. My back still aches a little, but at least I can walk...AMEN!

While I was at the chiropractor, Mason was with my mom. When I went to get him and hour later, I found my little man in his diaper and sandals running through her sprinkler like a mad man. He looked so trailer park and so cute at the same time. My mom said she had taken him to the park to play for a little bit and when they got back he was so hot he went straight for the sprinkler. Since his clothes were soaked, she just stripped him down. I wish I'd had my camera. It was quite the site to see!

Potty AWARENESS

Let me start this off by saying Mason is no where near actually going on the potty, but since I'd be home for the summer I thought we would start working on it. So here is his current status...

1. He notices when everyone else potties...me, Steven, Kate, Roxy the dog, basically anyone who walks into the bathroom.
2. He loves to sit on the potty.
3. He tells you, "I go pee-pee on potty" (but he doesn't).
4. He's fascinated with toliet paper and the roller the tp goes on...hence, what he's playing with on the potty.

So even though he's produced NOTHING, I thought the picture was too cute not to share!

Pete and Repeat...

Remember that old saying, "Pete and Repeat were in a boat. Pete fell out and who was left?" Well, just a tidbit of advice...Mason is REPEAT. So when around the little monster be careful what you say or you might be surprised what you get back!

Hooray for Date Nights and Dog Wrestling

Steven and I have always spent a lot of time together, but rarely do we go out the two of us. Well, well, well, tonight I have a date thanks to my friend Amy who's getting married. Yes, I know it's sad to consider going to someone's wedding a date night, but I am so looking forward to an evening with just adults. Luckily we have lots of family in town so it's not hard to get a sitter. Mason's Poppy (Steven's dad) is coming over to play, and no doubt that will include McDonald's for the little man. Steven even arranged for his dad to come early so we could go to dinner (he's so great)! I'll let you know what the adult world entails as soon as I get a little taste of it. I'm sure it will be great, but I'll be anxious to come home and peek in on my sleeping boy.

Now, since no one really cares to read about my personal life I'll add some Mason info. Right now...oh, who am I kidding...Mason has always loved to wrestle with Roxy. I feel sorry for the poor dog. She could be enjoying her evening nap and WHAM, Mason jumps right on top of her. She's always a trooper though. She'll let him crawl, poke, pinch, and even sit on her. Secretly, I think she likes it. So below are the wrestlemania pics from last week...

Completely Venting

I went to the library today to check out some of the new Sequoyah Children's Books (as much as I don't want to admit it, school will be starting sooner than I realize). Anyway, Mason was hungry and fussy, so I ended up carrying him out of the library along with my wallet, 6 books, and keys. Thankfully, Kate was a real trooper! As we were walking out I asked Kate to hold onto the bottom of my shorts, since I didn't have a free hand. She was such a listener and did what she was asked. Anyway, we were walking down the ramp to the parking lot and this IDIOT lady in her mini-van comes barrelling into the handicap parking space right next to the ramp. It scared me so much, I dropped my wallet, keys, and books, and immediately went for Kate who was closest to the car. Everything was fine, but I couldn't believe such a moron would pull into a parking lot like that. I'm sure the look I gave her was not very pleasant, but OH WELL!

Once I grabbed all the stuff off the ground, and got going again the lady and her 5 kids come out of the mini-van with no acknowledgement or apology of what she did. Finally, I get the kids in their seats and start to pull away when I notice Ms. Moron turning back down the library walkway only to climb her BIG BUTT back in the van so she can put her handicap tag up. UGHHHHH!!!! It took all my self-control to not pull up next to her and ask if her handicap was blindness since she nearly ran us over and did not have any visible sign of being handicapped. However, I held my tongue...so you get to read about it now. Lucky you!

25 Weeks

All About Addie
She is a big time mover. Mason used to move around a lot at night and when I was sleeping, but Addison moves constantly! I've gotten so used to it that I now have to remind myself to take the time to savor the moments. Like right now, she is kicking so forcefully the laptop is moving...CRAZY! As of our last dr. appt she is breech. Hopefully all of her acrobatics are moving her towards the correct launch position. She hasn't cooperated too much for Dr. Nilson to get a great ultrasound of her face, but she definitely has the Torres nose and a exceptionally large foot.
All About Mommy
I feel great and really enjoy being preggo. My back is hurting quite a bit more this time around than last, but I accredit that to toting around a little monster on one hip. I guess this goes under the saying of "no pain, no gain". My back could also be hurting from all of the weight I have gained...too much to mention the exact amount. I am looking forward to meeting this little one and seeing what her personality will be like.
All About Mason
...adjusting to the baby that is! He is been very sweet. He points to my stomach and says baby and gives the baby kisses. If we are cuddling on the couch, he'll lift up my shirt and give a big hug to my big belly. Sometimes, if his sister is lucky, he will even give a nice raspberry. I really think he will be an exceptional big brother. He may be a stinker, but he sure is compassionate. Steven and I are really, really blessed.

Rain, Rain, Go Away...

This rain has been relaxing for Mommy, but cramping the style of two young tikes. No pool, no park, and no outside time has made for some long days for these precious kiddos...
Mason and Kate watching it pour outside. They stood there for quite a while, both saying "outside" over and over and over again.

Messy Play

Today was a stay at home and be messy day. Since Mase spent about 10 hours in a car this past weekend, I thought it would be nice for him to have a normal day at the house and just PLAY. He had a great time, but his favorite part of the day was body painting. I have a friend who gave me the recipe for edible paint. I've been wanting for Mason to do some craft things, but EVERYTHING goes into his mouth. Needless to say, this activity was right up our alley. The best part was stripping him down to his birthday suit and letting him run through the sprinkler (sorry, no naked boy photos today...too risque).

Just getting acclamated to the funny sensation...
Signing for Daddy...
Yumm...this tastes good!
He just learned where his knees (along with everybody elses) are...So he painted his and then decided to paint mine. Lucky me!
Rinsing off in the sprinkler...
Trying to catch the water...
RECIPE FOR EDIBLE PAINT

4 tablespoons of sugar
1/2 cup of cornstarch
2 cups cold water
food coloring

Mix the first 3 ingredients together and heat, constantly stirring for 2 minutes. The longer you heat it, the goopier it gets. Let cool, then add the food coloring you want.
After painting, it leaves a little tint behind, but nothing a bath won't wash off. I have to give props to Ashley for this recipe. She has lots of DIY activities on her website. You can click on her blog if you want any other great DIY projects for kids or adults. Just click on Ashley Ann Photography.

Fourth of July

My brother recently moved to a suburb of Kansas City, so for the Fourth we made the trek to go and visit. My mom, her husband, Steven, Mason and I all piled in a two door Explorer and took the 5 hour drive. My rear is did not enjoy the trip, but I absolutely refused to pay big oil companies the price for gas on two separate cars...

Once we got there, we had a blast! Mason really enjoyed playing with his cousins and Steven and I enjoyed being with family. Brandon, my brother, lives very close to a lake and we took his boat out. I was a little bummed I didn't get to ski or wakeboard, but c'est la vie. Pregnancy has it's limits and there's always next summer to show my bro up on the wakeboard! I did, however, get to take a leisurely stroll on the tube with Mason. He loved it, and kept waving to everyone on the boat. Steven also got on the tube with my brother and Micheal, my mom's husband, but his journey was not so relaxing. He was flying! I have not laughed that hard in a long time.

Mason, Jasmine, and I on the tube.
Steven trying to stay afloat with the kids hanging on.
Mason relaxing with his Grammy.
Steven and Brandon before the torture began...
Mason being entertained by his cousins. He was so excited to eat at the kids table for the first time in his short little life.
A quick pic before we take off.

Head Gear

Mason has found a sudden interest in putting things on his head. Yesterday it was a stretchy headband that he sported ninja style. Today, he opted for a fancier do...a silky headband. I laughed hysterically when he came out with this on. I ran for the camera and immediately emailed Steven at work. I quickly got a reply ordering me to take if off his head ASAP! Apparently he didn't see the humor in it at all.

Addison

We went to Dr. Nilson yesterday and all of Addison's measurements are showing her to be a week ahead of schedule...keep your fingers crossed. I'd like to have her early like Mason!
