Bows and More

So I'm not going to lie, I've become a bow/clippie obsessed mom. I NEVER thought I would turn out to purchase so much for my baby girl's hair, but I have! Apparently there are others of you out there, because so many people have asked where I've purchased Addie's stuff. I guess I'll give up my secret...

Ice, Ice, Baby

Yep, iced in...again. So much for Global Warming. Anyways, here's some new pics of my babies.

Mason doesn't let a day go by without giving Addie some kisses.

My little man a little bored.

Just a few little tidbits on what the kids are doing....
MASE-Loves to hug on his sister. Is completely obsessed with the movie "Cars" (it's pretty bad when you find yourself repeating the movie in your daily conversations). He started to pretend sleep when he doesn't want to do something. Prime example:
Mommy: "Mason, come here and let me wash off your hands."
Mason: (Closes his eyes and snores)
Mommy: "Mase, your not sleeping. Get over here."
Mason: (yells) "I'm night-night momma!"
ADDIE-She is doing SO much better sleeping! Thank the LORD! She's going to bed at 8ish and wakes up at 6ish to eat, then back to bed for another couple of hours. Recently she started blowing raspberries. I remember Mason doing this, but I have to say she finds herself way more amusing than Mason ever thought he was. She is such a ham!

Transitions

Transition #1
Yep, we did it! Mason has transitioned from his crib to his toddler bed. Steven has wanted to do this for a long time and I just wasn't ready for him to be able to get in and out of bed by himself with a new baby. He's been in his 'big boy bed' for a week now and done very well. On occasion he'll get up when we lay him down for nap and knock on the door, but we just lay him back down and he goes to sleep. It really is cute to see him with his pillow and blankies.

Transition #2
I go back to work tomorrow :( I really am looking forward to seeing my students again, but I am so devastated to leave my babies. It's hard knowing what you'll miss while you're at work. I will never trade in the time I've had with them at home for anything. One reassuring thought is after I complete this school year, Steven and I have decided that it is time for me to be a stay at home mom. Every year since Mason was born I've said, "This is my last year of teaching." However, I've always gone back. Even though I knew I'd miss Mason like crazy, I also knew when I got home from work we'd get to spend lots of one-on-one time together. With two...not so much! I am so looking forward to spending time with Mason and Addie until they're school age. For those of you who know me, there is NO WAY I could stay at home and have my kids at school, so I will reenter the world of teaching and pray things haven't changed that much...

A Precious Love

When Steven and I found out we were having a girl I must admit I was a little upset. Not that I didn't want to have a girl eventually, but I wanted another boy since they kids would be so close in age. I thought that Mason would never be as close to his sister as he would a brother, but I was completley wrong. Mason couldn't be a better brother to Addison. Here's a perfect example, I was taking some pics of Addison in natural light (thanks Ashley for the tips, but I am so bad at photography!), and Mason wanted to be near her. He first took off his shirt (to be like her), laid down next to her, and held her hand. I thought it was so sweet. He always does stuff like that with her. Such a precious love he has for his sister.
Here's my only picture that turned out somewhat decent...

Randomness

My Addie and her 'Whatcha Talking About Willis' face
Mason's first of many tree-climbing experiences. Okay, okay he didn't ACTUALLY climb the tree...I put him in there, but he sure did love it. So it counts!
A post wouldn't be complete without sharing what I see the majority of my day. Mason sitting on the potty, watching cartoons to keep him entertained. Such a BOY!

Stranger Than Fiction

Mason + Potty Training=Disasterous

Yep...still working on the potty-training. He's doing pretty well, but only when I remind him to go. So we did our normal rountine which consists of taking his diaper off immediately after breakfast. He didn't want to go so he ran off to our bedroom. I made a mad dash to get him and bring him back into the livingroom (the potty is now in our livingroom b/c he'll actually sit there while he watches "Cars"). Later on I went back to our room to open the blinds and I smelled that electrical burning smell. I freaked out thinking something was about to catch fire. I looked down at all our cords and saw a wet spot on the modem. You got it...Mason peed on it. Needless to say, he shorted it out. When I called Cox to explain why I needed a new modem, the guy cracked up and started to tell the person next to him.

Seriously, I couldn't make this stuff up. Mason always makes life interesting. The best part was after I explained to him that we don't pee on modems just on potties, he left to get his Handy Manny Toolbox to 'fix' the problem. At least he saw the need to fix a problem....

On a happier note, Mason did put his poo-poos in the potty yesterday! I never thought I would be so excited about poo. I called Steven at work, my mom, and Rene to tell them the good news. Then took a pic of his first poos...won't be posting that pic :)
