Memorial Day Weekend

For our three day weekend, we spent the first part getting ready for a garage sale. Steven loved cleaning out the attic and moving all of our unused stuff out. He was not a happy camper, and I must admit he worked his tail off as usual. However, I am very excited to be getting rid of so much since we have baby #2 coming in the fall.

Knowing all the hard work Steven was going to do, we arranged to go see my Dad at Grand Lake for the last part of the holiday weekend. Normally, Mason is not the traveler. He doesn't sit still for long, but he is growing up. He didn't fuss at all on the way there or back. Not to mention he had a blast being outdoors, and getting to try out all new adventures. He was very content since he had new territory to explore. Here's a glimpse at some of his adventures while we were there...

As you can clearly see, Mason had a wonderful time. He's growing up so fast, and becoming so independent. I now realize that I am ready for another little one. (Someone please refer me to this blog when I am completely exhausted with 2 kids!)

Rooster Days and The "Face"

This year, the only thing I wanted for Mother's Day was to go to Rooster Days and eat all things fried. I don't know why I do it to myself, but I love me some corn dogs! I always end up paying for it later, but OH WELL! It tastes so yummy going down. However, the food wasn't the best part, it was watching Mason experience his first carnival type setting. He was really intrigued by the petting zoo. For him, we really should call it the 'I'll stand back and look at you' zoo. He wasn't so interested in touching the animals, but eventually he warmed up to touch the goats.

We also went to the morning parade for Rooster Days. Mason really liked watching the bands go by and the mini cars driven by the Adkar Shrine people.

Okay, now on to my whole purpose of this post...Mason's new face. The look your are about to see can be seen by anyone who looks in his direction. The most amusing part of the face is it looks just like Steven's when he's irritated. So, I thought I'd post it for everyone to see. Be sure to notice how 'happy' he looks on his pony. I just love it! I have my own mini white version of Steven. Maybe our next child will be a mini Puerto Rican version of me!

I do have one more thing to add...I HAVE 5 DAYS OF WORK LEFT!!!! Yahoo for SUMMER BREAK!

Mud Pies

One of many things I love about Mason is he's not afraid to get down and dirty. After our day of play outside, he had to be hosed off before coming in the house. My only thought after our adventurous day...I sure hope his little sister is up for some mud pies.

Everybody Loves Kung-Fu Fighting...

With a little closer inspection, I'm sure you'll be able to see one of Mason's favorite toys. On this particular day he was using his 'special toy' as numbchucks, complete with Kung-Fu sound effects. I wish I'd had the video camera because I'm sure we could have won $10,000 from America's Funniest Home Videos. My only thoughts when looking at this photo, "I CANNOT wait until he's teenager to pull out this photo!" (I'm an evil, evil mommy!)

It's a Girl!

Steven and I went to the Dr. on Thursday and the newest Torres will be a girl. I'm not quite sure what to do with a girl, but I'm sure it will involve LOTS of shopping!

First Boo-Boo and Bathtime

Mason has had lots of falls, but no ouchies...until today. Steven and Mason spent most of the day outside cleaning cars, sweeping the garage, and of course, PLAYING. Mason took quite a tumble on the knees. He didn't even cry. He got right back up and was on his merry way. To be honest, I'm surprised that this is his worst boo-boo so far. He's a pretty active little guy.

After spending most of the day playing in the dirt and mud, it was definitely time for a bath. Mason is for sure all boy. His outside time consist of the following: looking for ways to escape from you, finding the biggest, muddiest dirt pile to play in, running and chasing balls, playing with Roxy, and stabbing any crevices he can find in the concrete with a stick. He sure does have fun.

Easter Man

Easter is such a great time of year. Steven and I love celebrating our Jesus and the ultimate sacrifice for us. We look forward to sharing this event in history with Mason each year. Another great part of Easter how stinkin' cute Mase is when he's all dressed up. Of course he was the cutest one in the nursery...OF COURSE! I think there were even some little girls trying to get his digits. Good thing he hasn't learned our phone number yet. Anyway, we sure hope you enjoyed your Easter holiday as much as we enjoyed ours.
